Carlos Alberto Theater
Named after King Charles Albert of Sardinia, it was inaugurated in 1897 and from the outset it was a venue for popular shows: from the ‘horse circus’ to operettas, from light theater to cinema.
After a troubled process of progress and setbacks, the renovated Teatro Carlos Alberto was finally returned to the city in 2003. The TeCA Auditorium presents itself as a medium-sized theater and allows for different spatial arrangements: Italian-style, in an amphitheatre or as a circular room with a variably located stage and a maximum capacity of 374 seats.
In the interconnection with the surrounding space, the foyer functions as a square, on an extension of Rua das Oliveiras, an old and narrow street.
