Founded in 2010 by Paulo Sousa Costa and Carla Matadinho, Yellow Star Company (YSC) is one of the most prominent entertainment companies in Portugal’s cultural industries. Particularly focused on theater, it contributes to cultural decentralization by reaching different venues across the country.
Since opening its doors to the public, YSC has produced plays such as “The 39 Steps”, “The True Story of the Cicada and the Ant”, the ice musical “Aladdin and the Magic Cave”, “Zorro”, “Gisberta”, “The Lamp Shop”, “The Night”, “Boeing Boeing”, “Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike” and “Married by Force”, Molière’s timeless classic that marked Paulo Sousa Costa’s directorial debut.
More familiar plays such as “Alice in Wonderland”, “Aladdin and the Magic Lamp” and “Beauty and the Beast” have also been YSC milestones, the latter having been seen by more than 50,000 spectators.
