Centro Ciência Viva Tavira

Housed since 2005 in the former Chapel of the Carmo Convent, next to one of Tavira’s most emblematic churches, the Living Science Center of Tavira offers visitors a unique interactive space to promote scientific and technological culture, in an architectural complex of great beauty and heritage value.

In addition to an interactive exhibition centered on the theme of “Water and Energy”, the Living Science Centre of Tavira is also a versatile laboratory space for experimental science activities. It promotes lectures, temporary exhibitions and various recreational-pedagogical activities that arouse scientific curiosity among the school community and the general public. Taking advantage of the surrounding natural and heritage wealth, it also offers interpretation routes that integrate cultural, environmental and scientific values.

The Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira also plays a role in stimulating debate in the local community on issues of public impact related to science and technology, promoting Tavira as a city of scientific culture.
